Welcome to
Cattery Myroslava
We are a small-scale cattery with a spark of Ukrainian culture in Rotterdam, South Holland.
We have two British Shorthair cats, Lila (silver blotched tabby) and Mira (black silver shaded). I'm Karoline Rozova, the owner of the Myroslava cattery, and a crazy cat lady with a great love for cats.
When I got my very first kitten, Lila, my whole life changed! The kitten stage is probably my favorite phase in a cat's development. They're incredibly playful, love all the attention they get, and are always so sweetly sleeping after their zoomies or meal. Time flew by too quickly for me. Before I knew it, she was already six months old, and that's often the age to start thinking about spaying her. I wasn't sure what I wanted; I thought it would be lovely to have a litter with her, but I just didn't know much about it. I always enjoy meeting new kittens, though. I love seeing them come into the world and how wonderful it is to see how mother cats interact with their little kittens.
So I considered perhaps having a litter with Lila when she got older. Still, the idea was daunting; I had no experience, and I wasn't sure how to do it right for the mother cat and the kittens.
Quite by chance, I came across the Instagram page of cattery Better Together and thought I'd ask them about the process and what it takes to have a litter with your cat. From that day on, I was inspired. I remember clearly saying I wanted to do it just once, but after a few weeks, I made a decision: "I want to open my own cattery!" Tessie Heijkans, owner of cattery Better Together, inspired me with her deep love for her cats, as well as her knowledge of them and the entire process from pregnancy to the kittens being five weeks old. She's a woman with a big heart and is always ready to answer questions and help. Thanks to her, I opened this cattery, and it was with great honor that I received one of her kittens, Mira.
Now you might be wondering, why "a spark of Ukrainian culture"? Because I'm completely Eastern European and also have Ukrainian roots! My kitten Mira has a Ukrainian mother cat, Nonpareil Dewi cattery better together, and that's how I actually got the idea to name my cattery Myroslava Ukrainian, inspired by Mira and her mother cat. This means I'm going to give the kittens from my cattery Ukrainian names, so you can get a little acquainted with names from this culture! I'll also introduce you to the Ukrainian language, focusing on "cats." This is a lovely addition to my cattery, and I hope you'll enjoy it as much as all the adorable videos and photos from our cattery!
